Connector Media is pleased to announce the development of an exciting new project called The Sewing Rooms.
The Sewing Rooms will work with women suffering from mental health problems to establish a route to recovery through vocational training and personal development. This will be done through the upcycling and remodeling of cloths and textiles.
The recent well-being conference organised by Connector Media, Prescribing for Health, focused on the role community-based initiatives can play in helping people with common mental health problems. At the event, delegates were invited to give their own personal recipes for wellbeing, and the videos are now available.
“Creative Social Solutions for Mental Well-being” will provide an overview of social prescribing in healthcare. Social prescribing links mental health primary care patients with non-medical sources of support within the community. There is a growing evidence base and increasing consensus among health and social care professionals that psychosocial interventions should form a central component of treatment options for common mental health problems. » continue reading »
Social enterprise Connector Media thanks the hundreds of beautifully attired people who gathered at the Holland Hall Hotel in Upholland to celebrate Ascot’s Ladies Day with a charitable fundraiser.
Paula Gamester, founder of Connector Media, established the Alternative Ascot Day after she missed the train to Ladies Day at Royal Ascot. Profits from the event go to charity, and this year’s celebration will be held at Holland Hall Hotel, Up-Holland.
